Ten for Ben

Learning these ten variations from Bach’s Goldberg Variations was inspired by my friend Ben LaMontagne. We listened to them together and marveled at their beauty. After Ben died I became more and more determined to learn them. I went to my magnificent teacher who helped me learn the intricacies of playing Bach on the modern piano. Now after many years this is my second try out of the studio.

Welcome

Hello and Welcome to Neil Tyson Music.

I have created this site to be a platform for my music. Rather than wait FOREVER until EVERYTHING is finished I will be blogging and releasing as I go! I hope to have the first releases soon. One of the places on this site will be Listen Anytime.

On this page one can listen to any of the selections of my music anytime. Later down the road original work will also be available for sale. When I can figure a few more things out I will offer scores for viewing as well. For those interested in the piano I will have posts having to do with the care construction and nature of this beautiful instrument. A 1928 Steinway and Sons model A grand piano is my partner. It is unusual to have an older instrument with such a live board but luck was in the stars!

Here is a picture outside our house recently. It’s tough living in uglyville!
